SUNDAY, JUNE 27June 27, just two more days until our journey begins. Until this past week it has seemed rather surreal. We have been preparing, planning, booking, organizing, shopping, getting SHOTS, researching and e-mailing for months and it all seemed so far away. Now our bags are out and more or less packed. I have been going over everything in my mind, checking and rechecking so as not to forget anything. This is not like any other trip I have been on when you could say if I forget something I'll just buy it there. This time that may not be an option. I have been grateful for all the encouraging words, prayers and support from so many people, especially family. I am so grateful to my husband for encouraging me to do this and for the support of the rest of my family. In 5 days we will be in Cambodia, though I have to admit that for some time now I have been there, or at least my mind has. Thoughts and images of the people, the projects, the temples and the country have dominated much of my time. I know that the work of Development and Peace helps thousands of people around the world. We have seen letters and videos of thanks for the help, but to actually see the projects and meet the people will be totally awesome. Please continue to follow us on our journey with this blog, which Kathy has set up, and also with your prayers. Next time I write, we will be in Cambodia.
